So who knew I could add teacher to my work experience?! I was asked yesterday if I could fill in as an English teacher for a few weeks and decided to give it a try…I had no idea what I was saying yes to, but figured I speak English so why not. Little did I know I’d have my own 3rd grade class, actually 2! I don’t think it really sunk in until I was handed keys and a folder with lessons plans and shown “my classroom!” Talk about an adventure! Thankfully today was an unusual day because of an event. But after a quick lesson on the curriculum they use on an iPad and how to get it to project onto the board, I was told teach what you want and how you want as I was once again reminded it was my classroom. I am amazed at how laid back and confident they are, but I’m actually really excited about this.
My first group of  kids had 15 min left of class and asked if they could write on the board. I wanted to gage where they were so told them they could as long as it was a in English. We started with verbs and ended with a game of hangman.
Also, please note my name on the board. So strange to be called teacher! I have a new appreciation for all the teachers out there!IMG_2868.JPG
